Why solar eclipse glasses - like traditional InfoSec tactics - won't always work

ISO-solar glasses are safe for viewing the eclipse, so it's no wonder teachers, librarians, and astronomers are handling them to children to enjoy the spectacle. The expected behavior is that the viewer will leave the goggles on the entire time, and not take the glasses off to temporarily view what's really happening.   Why solar eclipse glasses - like traditional InfoSec tactics - won't always work

Enterprise Information Security Professionals have done the same thing for years - providing safety against known risks. But in the mobile first world, end users may do unpredictable things that put the organization at risk. Just like a child may remove their glasses unbeknownst to the teacher, employees will make mistakes, out of view of an enterprise security manager who is using traditional security tools.

That's where Microsoft Enterprise Mobility and Security and the Office 365 Compliance Center can help. Automated rules prohibit uploading, sharing, or downloading of confidential content. Intune's MDM allows devices to be wiped when lost or stolen. And Azure AD provides Multifactor Authentication to secure users' identities and data.

Expected and the unexpected. Explain the new age of cloud security risks to our clients, and get in the driver's seat for all of their security needs in the future.
